AITA for kicking everyone out after my sister lied and said my apartment was hers?

So, I (23F) live alone in a nice apartment that I’m really proud of. My sister, Amelia (20F), lives with our parents, but we’ve always been close. When I first moved in, I gave her a key for convenience and in case of emergencies, which felt natural at the time.

For the first few months, it was nice having her over. She’d pop by here and there, and I didn’t mind because we were close and I wanted her to feel welcome. But after a while, she started coming over almost every day, and I work long hours, so I value my personal space and privacy. I tried to be patient with her at first because I know she’s been wanting to move out too, but it was starting to feel like a lot.

Then it got... weird.

Amelia started commenting all the time about my apartment’s “aesthetic,” suggesting she would decorate it differently, or that “we” should move the furniture around. I’d laugh it off at first, thinking she was just joking. But it wasn’t just the comments. She started rearranging little things when I wasn’t home, and that really bugged me. I didn’t say anything, hoping it wasn’t a big deal and just brushed it off.

It all came to a head about two weeks ago when we were at a party with some of our mutual friends. I overheard her telling someone about “her new apartment.” Confused, I listened for a bit, and the person she was talking to said, “It looks nice from the pictures.” That’s when it hit me—she was showing people my apartment and pretending it was hers!

A few days later, I came home early from work and found her on my couch with a girl I didn’t even know. She looked shocked when I walked in, and quickly left to “go shopping.” It happened again a few days later, with two of our cousins this time, and she didn’t even seem to care that I was there. I texted her afterward, asking her to at least ask me before having anyone over to my apartment. Her response? A one-word “K.” That was it.

But then, things went back to normal... or so I thought.

Last night, after working a 12-hour shift, I came home to find Amelia again—this time, with FIVE friends playing a drinking game in my living room. I was exhausted and fuming. I didn’t even try to keep my cool—I told everyone to leave. Amelia tried to talk to me in the kitchen, but I wasn’t hearing it. I snapped, saying, “Get the hell out! I live here, Amelia lives with our parents!” One of her friends asked, “Wait, you live here?” And that’s when I completely lost it.

Everyone left pretty quickly, but now my family is upset. They’re saying I embarrassed Amelia in front of her friends and that she’s “humiliated.” Honestly, I don’t think I did anything wrong, but now I’m wondering if I overreacted. My sister’s behavior was just so out of line that I couldn’t hold back anymore.

So, am I the asshole here?
